Future of TV
A reflection on watching sports through the Star Sports app and how a single feature can define the entire viewing experience.

The Formula One season started very differently this year — both for the sport and for me as a viewer. I subscribed to the day's sporting events on Star Sports.
I installed the Star Sports app on my Indian version of the Samsung Note 8. It was an experience — both the replay and the app — and it is likely to change my TV habits forever. I only pay for the day’s TV now.
Yesterday, it was the match between Chelsea and Arsenal, and it was quite an entertainment. What I missed, though, was the timeline populated with key moments of the sport. It is extremely useful and was available for Formula One, showing overtakes and crashes on the timeline.
For yesterday’s game, I had to switch to the laptop to view the timeline.
Being a designer working on enterprise apps lately, this makes me realize how a single feature can define the entire experience — and why it's so important to talk to the user to know what that feature is.
